Oh sure, blame the goose: Liberty Magazine cover, 8/4/1945, art by Frances Tipton Hunter

The actual title to the cover image is 'Caught in the Act'.

Frances Tipton Hunter (1896-1957) was an American illustrator whose professional career began in the early 1920's and ran until around the time of her death.

Her work tended toward the charming and sentimental, and was very effective.

Sort of like if Norman Rockwell channeled a mid-century Mary Engelbreit...?
